Bromo Ijen Crater Tour: Don'ts And Dos

July 10, 2022

You can book a Bromo Ijen Crater tour for three days or two days. It helps you feel relaxed and happy after you do your business all day. During your tour to a new place, there are some tips that you must know to avoid something bad and to get a good experience from your holiday in Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater.

Things to Do in Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater

Here are some things are supposed to do when you like to get a better experience of the Bromo Ijen Crater tour.

  • The first tip is to plan your trip to Bromo Mountain on a weekday. We understand that it may be difficult to arrange. Still, on weekends there will be many people in Bromo, making it difficult to enjoy the wonders of Mt. Bromo.
  • If you have already decided to visit Bromo on the weekend and Penanjakan 1 is crowded, you can try another spot. Kingkong Hill is perfect to see the sunrise. Although Kingkong Hill is lower than Penanjakan 1, it provides the best view of Mt. Bromo and the surrounding area.
  • Bring some snacks or bread for the Bromo tour. There aren’t many food options. Given the distance from the town to the Bromo area, there is only one small Warung in Bromo.
  • You can bring your warm jacket, extra socks, a warm hat, and gloves. Typically, the temperature ranges from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.
  • If you want to attend a special event while visiting Bromo, plan your trip around the Kasada Ceremony. It will be held 14–16 months after Kasada or when the full moon appears in the sky. Our calendar is normally in June and July.

Things to Avoid in Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater:

Here are some things to avoid if you don’t want a bad Bromo Ijen Tour experience.

  • You might get lost if you try to leave the track while in the whispering sand.
  • Please abide by the rules on Mt. Bromo and avoid bad intentions, as Tengger villagers still believe in karma. According to Bromo locals, a group of tourists purposefully threw rocks into the crater. Then, out of nowhere, several rocks erupted from the crater, striking the tourist and killing him. Locals believed that the tourists had the worst intentions at the time, so God punished them directly.
