Our tour duration is 3 days and 2 nights. You will stay at two hotels in two different areas, where you can have the adventure that you want. We will mostly be moving around from one destination to other. Therefore, you should prepare everything, including your physical condition. Make sure you are healthy and not sick. Otherwise, you can’t enjoy our tour.
Our tour is considered short in terms of tour duration. Therefore, it is suitable for you who don’t have too many days off to enjoy a vacation. Day 1: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Surabaya – Hotel in Mount Ijen Area
Your trip starts from Malaysia. You will take a flight and arrive at the Juanda International Airport in Surabaya. Then, we will pick you up from the airport and start the trip to Banyuwangi for the Mount Ijen tour the next day. We have a comfortable and full-AC car for you. So, you can enjoy your trip to Banyuwangi which could take around 7 to 8 hours.
Once we arrived in Banyuwangi, you will check in to the hotel we have booked before. It will be afternoon when you arrive. So, you have free time to do anything that you want. However, we recommend you have enough rest and prepare your physical condition for the Mount Ijen tour on the next day. It will be quite tasking, so you need to have a good condition before we start.
Day 2: Mount Ijen – Hotel in Mount Bromo Area
We will start day 2’s tour at midnight. We give you a call at 12:30 AM, so you need to prepare for our trip. We pick you up at your hotel and depart at around 01:00 AM. Make sure you carry everything that you need, including jackets and spare clothes that you can wear for climbing.
Our vehicle will transfer you to Paltidung, the parking area at the foot of Mount Ijen. Here, you need to prepare for trekking to the Ijen Crater. The trekking route is not that hard. It is suitable for beginners who have never climbed a mountain before.
Moreover, the route will go through a beautiful nature reserve. The whole area, which is 2468 ha wide, is all part of this nature reserve. It has a clove and coffee plantation, a rainforest area where the trekking route is located, wildlife, giant ferns, big trees, and lush vegetation. Therefore, your trekking to the top won’t be boring. You can enjoy these beautiful views and fresh air, which can calm your body and mind.
The trekking to Ijen Crater is one of the most challenging parts of our Bromo Ijen Tour from Malaysia. It takes around 90 minutes to reach the summit. Once you get there, you can find a small path you can use to reach the lake in the middle of the crater. The path is quite dangerous, so you must be extra careful here.

Day 3: Mount Bromo Tour – Surabaya
Similar to the previous day, you will start the Bromo and Ijen Tour early, at dawn. We will pick you up from the hotel at 3 AM. Unlike the Mount Ijen tour, you will ride a 4WD Jeep. The route is quite challenging, so this is the only vehicle that can reach the destination for our day 3 tour.
The destination is Penanjakan Hill on the rim of Tengger caldera. It is also known as the Sunrise Point because this place is the best spot to enjoy one of the most beautiful sunrise scenery in the world. The view is gorgeous. The sunlight shines through Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru, creating a beautiful natural masterpiece. The light that shines on the fog of the caldera also gives a fantasy-like view.
Enjoy the view, capture it with your camera, and relax. After that, we take you to explore Mount Bromo. Then, we return to your hotel to have breakfast and prepare for checkout. Take a break then we go to the last destination of our tour, Surabaya. The trip will take around 4-5 hours.
