Tour day 1 Surabaya Pick up
If you join a tour package starting from Surabaya, the driver from the tour service will provide a pick up from Juanda International Airport or Surabaya train station or if you have spent the night in Surabaya, it is always possible to pick you up from the hotel where you at.from the pick up point,the tour will take you to the area around Mount Bromo. The drive will take about 3-4 hours from Surabaya. When you reach the designated area near Mount Bromo, you will be taken to the cottages or hostels where you can take a rest before the next tour heading to Bromo Mountain, here you can find many of them.
Tour day 2 Bromo sunrise
After you spent enough time to rest, around 3 am early in the morning, the jeep (a 4WD vehicle) is ready to bring you to another world. The breathtaking view of Mount Penanjakan in sunrise located on the rim of Tengger caldera. Be prepared to take instagramable pictures that you can get only in this particular place. If you are good, you will catch the sight of all mountains belong to the Tengger caldera which are Bromo, Kursi, Watangan, and Wiidodaren mountain. You can also see the peak of the highest mountain in Java, the Mahameru.
The reason why you need to start the jeep trip early is that there will be a lot of other jeeps with other groups of tourists that will queue to see the sunset, this will cause congestion. The last thing you want is to be late to enjoy the sunset or you have no good spot to enjoy the view since there will be hundreds of people there. Right after you are spoiled with the beauty of sunrise you will be taken to Bromo Mountain. You have the option of whether to walk or to ride a horse to reach the stairs going to the Bromo crater. You will be taken back to the hostels afterward.
Tour day 3 Ijen blue flame tour and Ketapang Harbour
The next destination of Surabaya Bromo Ijen Ketapang Harbour is the Ijen crater. The tour driver will bring you to the village of Licin to continue the trip tp the slope of Ijen. You will have to walk for about 1 to 1,5 hours to reach the peak. Once you are on the peak of mount Ijen you must go down to the crater to see the blue flame. You will see the scene of the sulfur miners carrying sulfurs on their shoulders with around 80kg in weight. After the experience, the tour driver will take you to the hotel then to Ketapang Harbour to complete the Surabaya Bromo Ijen Ketapang Harbour tour package.
