The Tumpak Sewu Bromo Ijen tour is a tour that you can never miss out on. This tour covers exploring Malang mostly in Kampung Jodipan known as Rainbow Village, Bromo Sunrise, Ijen Blue Fire, Madakaripura Waterfall, and also the majestic Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.

Mount Bromo, derived from the Hindu god Brahma, is the most renowned of the volcanoes in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, although it is not the tallest, most symmetrical, or most aesthetically pleasing.

It is situated in the central region of East Java, at an altitude of 2329 meters, and is classified as a somma (caldera) volcano, meaning it has a partially constructed new cone within its interior. One of the most captivating aspects of the area is the lunar-like, ashen, and rough terrain surrounding the volcano, with the most prominent view of the area coming from a nearby mountain range.

Day 3 : Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

On day three of Tumpak Sewu Bromo Ijen tour, we will explore Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.

Tumpak Sewu waterfall is a waterfall that has a height of 120 meters and has many beautiful waterfall streams. This waterfall is in Lumajang and is located on the slopes of Mount Semeru.

This waterfall is majestic and the most beautiful waterfall in Java.

To reach the base of this waterfall, you will be trekking through a fairly steep and difficult path for approximately 1 hour. However, it will all pay off once you get to the main waterfall.

You need to be careful going down the track to Tumpak Sewu. It is highly recommended to hire a guide to direct you to a safe path. Especially after the flood of cold lava from Mount Semeru that passes through the river at Tumpak Sewu.

After exploring the Tumpak Sewu waterfall, you will be back at your hotel, pack your things, and get ready to go to Ijen in Banyuwangi. It takes approximately 5 to 6 hours to reach Ijen from Lumajang.

Day 4 : Ijen Crater

Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the blue fire by hiking to Ijen on this Tumpak Sewu Bromo Ijen tour. The hike to Ijen is a challenging one, taking approximately two hours to reach the crater lake, with steep ascents along the way. Fortunately, the trail is well-marked, so visitors can avoid getting lost in the dark.

For those wishing to observe the blue fire, it is recommended to wake up around the hour of 01:00 AM; however, those wishing to witness the sunrise at Lake Ijen Crater can depart at the hour of 03:00.

If you’re looking to get to the crater, it’s important to be careful and have a guide. We started our slow descent towards the crater. It was dark and the descent was steep, so it took about half an hour to an hour and a half. Depending on how many people wanted to go down, it could take up to 45 minutes.

If it’s your first time climbing, it’s a good idea to have someone with you to support and guide you as you make your way up the mountain. Because if you don’t, you won’t enjoy making your way down a steep crater in the dark early in the morning.

The Crater

Blue Fire is a really rare thing that only a few people get to see. It’s when the sulfur is at the bottom of a crater near the lake and the smoke is coming out. Pay attention to the wind because it could blow strong sulfurous fumes up to you, which can make you feel short of breath and have your eyes burn.

Make sure you’re wearing a mask if you’re going into the crater. Once you’ve got enough smoke for the shot you’re looking for, get out before the wind kicks up and the sulfurous fumes start wafting out.

Sunrise at the Crater Lake

At the start of the day, when the sun comes up, the lake is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a stunning turquoise against the yellow of the sulfur mine, and the warm golden morning light makes it even more beautiful. It’s a sight to behold!

We’ll drop you off at your hotel after exploring Ijen Crater and pick you up for breakfast and check out. Then, we’ll head straight to your hotel in Ubud Bali and pick you up in the afternoon – it’ll take about 6 hours to get there.
