What to Do in Mount Bromo
Besides seeing the breathtaking sunrise in the height of Mount Bromo, there are plenty of activities that you can do while you are in Mount Bromo. Check out of these villages in Mount Bromo that are worth visiting while you are in your vacation.
The towns of Ngadas and Gubugklakah surround Mount Bromo. The two are higher than the mountain itself. The best time to visit them is around the festival period in both of those towns.
In Ngadas, for instance, the Tengger people of Poncokusumo often perform traditional ceremonies based on their own system of calendars, such as Hari Raya Karo and Unan Unan. A few days from September to October, Karo is celebrated.
In addition to Karo, every five years Unan Unan takes place. The ritual starts with the killing of a buffalo. The pieces of its body, some of which were made into satay, are then taken to Sanggar Pamujan, which is not too far away from the village.
In Poncokusumo district, Gubugklakah village is one you might want to take a look, as it is famous for being an apple agrotourism destination. The visitors can expect the fruit to be picked all year round at a price from IDR 20,000 per kilogram.
